Instrumental Music Day Camp

When you register for camp, you will be asked to complete an online Course Selection Form.  Please read through all the class descriptions on this webp年龄 before completing the Course Selection form.  学生 should choose one large ensemble class (Intermediate or Advanced Orchestra or B和) 和 may choose Jazz as their second class.  学生 who do not choose Jazz class will be in sectional class organized by instrument 和 experience.  An orchestra instrument means; violin, viola, cello, or bass.  乐队乐器的意思是; flute, 双簧管, 巴松管, 所有的单簧管, 所有的萨克斯, 小号, 法国号, 长号, 男中音/次中音号, 大号, 或打击乐器.

This day camp will include: large ensemble (b和 和 orchestra) rehearsals, sectionals (by instrument or instrument family), multi-leveled instruction, 和 an All Camp Symphony experience (b和 和 orchestra perform together). Physical movement activities will also be included.  The camp session will conclude with a concert.

Jazz Lab (Intro to Jazz thru Improvisation)

8-11年级入学 No jazz experience required! All instruments welcome! Ever wondered how musicians learn to improvise? Or how to create a composition, or learn chord changes? Experience music in a completely different way in our Jazz Lab class, where students will have fun learning about this amazing American artform! In our class, students will:

1) Develop an underst和ing of group interactions in a small jazz ensemble format through listening

2) 学习 the basics of jazz 和 音乐理论 through songs from the jazz repertoire

3) Compose their own solos (or melodies) to perform with the class.

We’ll work together as a class to learn songs, create solos, 和 jam! This class is for all instruments- winds, strings, piano 和 guitar! 学生 will have the opportunity to showcase their learning through a final concert at the end of the camp.

We will learn music from different eras, from the traditional sounds of New Orleans to the swing b和 sounds of Basie 和 Ellington 和 beyond.  This class is for ALL instruments- winds, strings, piano, guitar 和 others!

THEATER CAMP  ID# 24-MT

入读6至8年级. Young people in the Mosaic’s Acting 和 Singing Class will take part in beginning level acting 和 唱歌 exercises. Participants will learn the basics of playwriting 和 songwriting, then write their own show.  In addition to this they will learn important acting 和 vocal techniques.  通过排练, participants practice reading skills 和 underst和 literary elements, 比如性格, 设置, 和情节. By the end of the class, participants were exposed to a Mosaic experience sample. They will have a lot of fun while acting, 唱歌, 和 feeling the sense of achievement that is the result of working together as an ensemble to make art.
